Edith Murway-Traina – great-great-grandmother, former dance teacher celebrates her 100th birthday on August 8, 2021. She is officially the oldest athlete in powerlifting.

“While I was watching those ladies doing their thing, I thought I just as well should pick up a few bars, and I did.”
“Going on a regular basis, I found that I was enjoying it, and I was challenging myself to get a little bit better and a little bit better. Before long, I was part of the team.” – said Edith Murway-Traina to Guinness World Records release.
Soon, she began taking part in competitions and winning awards.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Murway-Traina has suspended training and competition as needed. However, now that the restrictions are not so strict, the athlete can return to competition.
