The actress spoke about her experiences with Stage 4 breast cancer in a new interview with Hoda Kotb on Today, where both women talked about their experiences with cancer.
73y.o. Olivia Newton-John spoke about her struggle with the disease on Wednesday, October 20, for Today. Hoda was touched when Olivia took a moment from the interview to ask how she was doing after the Today host reported her diagnosis in 2007.
Hoda told Olivia that she was amazed when she was told her that she had breast cancer.
The journalist and TV presenter on NBC’s morning show “News Today” seemed to understand everything Olivia was experiencing.
“We’re sisters,” Olivia said. “Anyone that has gone on this journey with cancer, it’s unknown destinations and surprises and turns.”
While Olivia mentioned that some days can be harder than others. She revealed that she uses medicinal marijuana to relieve physical pain.
“I have my days, I have my pains,” she said. “But the cannabis that my husband grows for me has been such a huge part of my healing. And so I’m a really lucky person.”
In addition to conventional treatments, she uses cannabis to relieve pain and also advocates for the legalization of medicinal cannabis.
Last year, Olivia and her husband founded the Olivia Newton-John Foundation to support plant research for cancer.

During her interview, Olivia also shared her thoughts on the 40th anniversary of her hit song “Physical”. And talked about her unfailing love for music.
